Wesley Weekly – June 30, 2022
Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.
~ Hebrews 10:24-25
Christian Worship is weird – I think we need to own that! If someone is new to Church, there is a whole lot that we do that might not make sense, from special symbols to singing together to everything involved in the sacraments. This week we begin a new Summer Sermon Series called “Why In The Worship?” which will break down the biblical, traditional, and theological roots behind all the things we do in worship. We begin this week at the very beginning with the question – God Is Everywhere, So Why Gather For Church At All?
  • 8:00am Traditional Service with communion
  • 9:30am Traditional Service with Nursery & Breakout Sunday School.  Children will begin in worship and will be dismissed to Sunday school following the Children’s Message.
  • 11:00am Contemporary Service. Nursery is provided.
Morning Session registration has closed. Significant openings still remain in PM. Sign your camper up today at wesleyfreedom.org/vbs!

Pastor Jenny will enjoy a long-awaited sabbatical June 23rd – August 16th. Clergy in The United Methodist Church are encouraged to take 2-3 months away every 7 years; this is Pastor Jenny’s first! While she considers serving Wesley Freedom during these challenging years an amazing adventure, constant adaptation and decision making has taken a toll. Pastor Jenny is grateful for the opportunity to dedicate these months to spiritual renewal and family. The Smiths will enjoy an adventure in Alaska and Canada. Ministry at Wesley Freedom will continue seamlessly under the leadership of the Rev. Ian Collier and our amazing staff and servants.

Taylor Boone, our Director of Youth Ministries, is on a medical leave through July 10th. Cards of encouragement are welcome outside the church office. She looks forward to returning to her youth and community in July. Please be aware she is unable to receive calls, emails and text messages.
