Rising Above Addiction

We support this non-profit organization throughout the year with monetary donations and our physical presence at their events, such as a 5-mile run/walk.  

Our goal is to help Rising Above Addiction fulfill their goal of providing drug treatment for youth in Carroll County.

Jen Evans, LGPC

Jennifer graduated from Towson University with a Masters in Counseling Psychology. She has 17 years of counseling experience, including 14 years working in the Carroll County School System where she provided individual, group and family counseling. She has also worked with adults in Baltimore City and hospitalized adults at HCGH. She is a Red Cross volunteer counselor on the Disaster Mental Health team. Jennifer is excited to be on the team at Hope Rising, helping any in need of counseling support in our community.

Fee for service is on a sliding scale based on an income and household size.

Support Groups

We do our best to stay current with our support group resources so that we can refer those in need to people with similar circumstances. We refer to the Support Groups located here at Wesley Freedom and those located off church premises.

We have information on Support Groups for,

  • Grief
  • Cancer
  • Family Peer Support
  • Families who are grieving the loss of a family member who died by way of suicide
  • Parents who are grieving the loss of a family member who died by way of addiction
  • Family members or individuals who are suffering from addiction or alcoholism
  • And many others.
