Stephen Ministry: Stephen Ministers are members of Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church who have been through extensive training and provide confidential, one-to-one, Christian care to people who are experiencing a difficult time. They listen, care, encourage, pray, and provide weekly support for as long as the need persists. Our Stephen Ministers are ready to bring God’s love and care to those in need. Grief Share: is a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. Our groups are led by a pastor along with caring people who have experienced grief and want to help you through the difficult days ahead. We know it hurts, and we want to help. We currently have groups meeting on Wednesday evenings from 7 -9 pm and on Thursday mornings from 10 am – noon. If you are interested in joining a group contact Rev. Elizabeth LeMaster (firstname.lastname@example.org) or for more information, visit the Grief Share website.
South Carroll Breast Cancer Support Group is a special monthly support group designed to help anyone who is in any stage of cancer, from diagnosis to survivor – the goal is to provide Hope for the Fighters and Peace for the Survivors. Having cancer is often one of the most stressful experiences in a person’s life. However, this support group will help people cope with the emotional aspects of cancer by providing a safe place to share their feelings and challenges. The group will allow people to learn from others facing similar situations. The group meets on the 1st Monday of the month in Room 200 from 7-8 PM.
Prayer Chain: Prayer is a very important part of the ministry at Wesley Freedom. We believe that prayer makes a difference in the lives of those who are prayed for as well as in the lives of those who pray for others. Prayer needs are forwarded to the members of the prayer chain by e-mail or phone. To place someone on the prayer chain you may write your request on the ConneXion Card on the bulletin or contact the church office.
714 Prayer Team: This prayer ministry meets Monday evenings at 7 pm, in Room 200. We gather each week to lift in prayer our Church, our weekly prayer concerns, our community and our world. No sign up is required, just show up.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: This group makes prayer shawls, chemo caps and lap blankets to distribute to church members and community organizations who could use the comfort and warmth of one of these hand crafted items. If you know of someone who could use a prayer shawl or lap blanket, contact the church office.
Emergency Meals Ministry: This ministry prepares and delivers meals on a temporary basis for individuals and families in our church congregation who are in need during an emergency or crisis. If you have a need for emergency meals, contact the church office.
Funeral Luncheon: At a time when our congregation members and family are grieving the loss of a loved one, the funeral meal group steps in to serve a meal for funeral guests in our Community Life Center.
